THE FOUNDATIONS OF YOGA
Foundations of Yoga
Welcome to the Foundations of Yoga Course! The journey begins now and will last as long as you want it to. You get lifetime access to the videos so you are encouraged to go at a pace that truly works best for you. Though you are welcome to ask questions anytime via email, there is also a daily live-stream guided meditation from 6-6:20am with an optional Q & A session from 6:20-6:30.
For this course, there are no prerequisites. You are welcome to participate just as you are, to the level that you are comfortable with. That said, you may want to have a yoga mat, a yoga bolster, a strap, and select a quiet place in your house with access to a wall for each session.
If you are working with acute or chronic injuries then you are also encouraged to rest or take it very easy to prevent them from worsening. Usually if we can identify the cause and avoid doing the things that make the situation worse, our body can heal on its own over time. Please seek professional help if needed and practice yoga responsibly. You are assuming all risks by moving forward with this course. Though it is gentle, developmental and powerful, it is not a substitute for professional diagnosis and treatment.
In this course you will learn the foundations of yoga that include:
- basic and nuanced breathing techniques
- functional alignment techniques that can be applied to every yoga posture
- all of the foundational yoga postures and common modifications for each one
- gentle, yet powerful sequences that gradually build strength and balance
- a variety of restorative postures and powerful relaxation techniques
- basic meditation techniques from the yoga tradition
- the basic philosophy behind yoga
By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently and competently take any style of yoga and get something beneficial out of it, while protecting yourself and working at your desired intensity. Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, if you have any questions please put a ‘?’ In the subject line and I will respond as soon as I can. Thank you, I am looking forward to working with you!
